Well, it looks like the fire is surrounding the main grade out of town and they expect it to jump over to the freeway I take to school...so I guess I won't be going to school tomorrow .

Anyway, I took the liberty of snapping a pic of the fire across from our house. There's a lot of smoke so you can't see the flames, but they're there

Hope you do ok Lady. I grew up down in So Cal and more then once have had to evacutate and/or miss school due to brush fires

The old joke in LA is that each year we would have the annual brush fires, followed by the annual mud slides.

Stay safe!

Ya, we listened to the weather and they arent sure about rain. We really hope not, the last thing we need is mudslides

Nother update here: Gov. Gray Davis has declared SoCal in a state of emergency and is waiting for approval from the White House to declare this area a Major Disaster area.
Fire also seems to have crested the hill in VC and has headed into Escondido, where my bro lives. Also, a couple new ones have sprung up in VC, and my mom is worried one of them is where we're stabling two of our horses. I'm glad we're safe for the moment, but this is really turning into a nightmare

edit: Got a fresh pic here....taken 20min ago

Sorry about your troubles, Ms. Blue. I remember combating an encroaching forest fire in KY in my youth. I was at a friend's (very nice) house spraying down the brush, lawn, and house with a water hose while watching the fire come down the hill at me. For a while there I was working side-by-side with firefighters. Luckily we beat it. I wish you the same luck! All my best!

I've seen some of the images and heard the statistics on the news these past couple of days - how terrifying it must be for you all. My thoughts are definitely with everyone affected
