Hi folks, just passing along some advice to any fellow chronic restarters.

I'd read long ago about how to use multiple player-made characters by switching a game from the multiplayer save folder to the single player save folder.

That works fine, but since I restart the game a bit more often then the average bear, I grew to REALLY dislike the dungeon...

So if you want the freedom to start a new character, but don't want to deal with the boring ol' dungeon, pay heed to these instructions.

1. Start a new single player game with whatever character you like and make sure to get all the important items (jewel of the equalizer and whatnot), and work your way through the dungeon as normal. Don't hate it too much, it 's the last time you'll ever have to see that repulsive dungeon.

2. Transfer all the important items to an alternate npc (Jaheria, Yoshimo, ect.) and save your game as Xfer or somesuch.

3. Whenever you wish to start a new character, simply drag that file from your Single Player Save folder into the Multi-Player save folder, then use the multiplayer options to remove your previous PC and insert your new PC(s) into the party.

4. After that, simply move the file back to your Single Player Save folder, make sure to keep a copy stored so you can do this whenever you like for new characters. And of course, be sure to not do any quests before your transfer characters, keep all the exp for your new char that you can.

You guys are set. I don't know if this had been posted in the past, I've been lurking on and off for awhile. But hopefully I saved some Chronic Restarters some valuable time better spent adventuring then crawling through some slimy dungeon.

There's a mod that will simply remove the dungeon for you

Here's a topic that deals with that: http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/cg...=019357#000000

But then there's the far more interesting solution, instead of removing the dungeon, why not actually make it a fun and challenging part of the game?

This link will take you to a place where you can download the incredible Tactics Mod. the Improved Ilyich (first dungeon) mod is only one of it's many components. I'd at least try it out before you download the former mod.

Dungeon be gone is too easy. Free exp and items, no work.

True, but you would play the game through a few times before you installed a mod like this.

Divine intervention indeed. A demi-god of murder has better things to do than that dungeon. He/she also has better things to listen to than Jasper St F-wit. I'll take Tactics or Norbane's suggestion over Dungeon-be-gone any day.

Very true. The way I see it, J st. C lasts for about... all of thirty seconds, if I just click through the whole conversation. Irenicus' dungeon lasts for an hour or more. At least an hour more with the Tactics upgrade. For those who want to play through the fun parts of the story and aren't too bothered with challenges... DbG is nice.
