Microsoft is a pain but think if you were forced to work through DOS again? Or even...I fear to say it...a Mac system. I would rather go back to pencils, paper and a calculator before I take a Crapintosh.

Bill Gates: If the auto industry had kept up with change over the past 2 decades like MS has, we'd now have cars that could fly or teleport everywhere and didn't require manual steering.
Auto Exec: Yes, but we'd also have to get out and push at least twice every day. Gates has kept the industry from evolving as efficiently as it could by stymieing competition - which is why he lost the antitrust case. He bought the program that became Explorer in exchange for very little cash, but a promise of royalties on purchases. Then, he gave IE away for free, meaning he had to pay the developer no $$$$$$$. MS also has had very Enron-style accounting practices since 1997. MS has *never* paid dividends (okay, that one's not so bad). Nevertheless, the list is quite long. Plus, Bill Gates is absolute irrefutible proof that money cannot buy class. |

I say, more power to them. He has catapulted the computer industry beyond what I think we would have without him, and the man deserves free enterprise just as much as anybody else. As far as his internal business practices go, I not sure any of us know the truth, just the media's interpretation. If he is doing anything ilegal, then punish him, untill then, I hope he keeps evolving the Microsoft line to solid technology. Think about it, It all went so fast ,and still is, I think he's kept up pretty good with the integrity. I run XP home now and am given for free automatic updates for any issue. Remember the monopoly scam with GTE back in the 80's? They ended that, and now we are constintly bombarded with phone crap everywhere! Im jelous of my parents who dealt with 1 bill for 1 line. Free enterprise only goes so far, your wallet.
