Didnt know where to post this, so i'll just dump it here. It seems you have an invasion of bots that usually spam forums full with topics that contain links with virusses. They randomize their IP's and just keep spamming and spamming, caused a lot of hassle on my guild's webiste too. Just look at the names of people that have visited the forum in the last 24 hours. they are easy to recognise.

I ran full system anti virus scans plus ad-aware and this seemed to clear the pop-ups I had been seeing here. I have not used any links from Ironworks forums posts since then so I'm not sure if there is still a problem. |

Re: Testing... send a few replies please :)
I have been hand verifying members because of those damn bots.. I don't see any posts here with spam--if you EVER see any, post it in Gen Con ASAP! If I don't see it first.
They do ruin forums.. I gotta pay for an upgrade to get the latest version soon.. that has advanced bot blocking I hear.. never is solid though.. Grey--I haven't seen any links with virus files, if you see a link post the thread link here..

Those accounts you see like xifijsrt39ddfdf and such are 'members' but have not yet been activated for posting or PM's.. I shall nuke their accounts though.
They cannot post, reply or pm. they shall all be deleted.

Re: Testing... send a few replies please :)
For now, I turned OFF 'registering as a new user'. so no new bot accounts. I'll add some scripting to try to stop the bots again.. new questions to answer ect...
Those accounts were in a holding pattern anyway. no posts were made by them. But anytime you see an attached file that is not an image, ALWAYS take care to scan it with many virus scanners and stuff.. (zip or rar files.. I don't allowe exe or com or scr files). All is safe now. all those accounts are history! Thanks for the heads up guys!!!!!

Over at Pocket Plane Group spam is a near daily problem. The trick is to look for nonsense topic names, instead of:
