If I had a gopher problem I'd prefer less fatal extraction methods if possible. I saw a show about a prarie dog sucker... it was an old honey dipper that had been refitted to suck prarie dogs right out of their burrows, they popped out of the hose into the big tank at the back of the truck, dropping onto an old mattress for cushioning, ready for relocation.

Yes I'm serious and yes it was funny as heck to watch the thing working, sucked those little critters right out of the ground.
