I have surfed enough over the net to know that may swear by this game. I am not a big FPS with the exception of the Thief series which is still my all-time favorite gaming experience.
Anyway, I have been told that HL 1 also has a great story line which sounds attractive. I can pick up the HL 1 anthology for $19.00 (though the Half-Life Plantinum Anthology will be released next year which I believe contains both 1 and 2 plus expansions). Please give me your thoughts/experiences. Thanks. |

I just started playing it, you probaly already read my thoughts so far. Like you I am not big on FPS either and the Thief series was what I enjoyed most although it isn't really a FPS. While a large element to Half-Life is FPS it throws in enough problems were by shooting isn't a solution and you have to wear a thinking cap quite often.
