Dragging this back on topic BTW, sorry Mark!

Since no one will know the Dutch ones anyway, I won't bother with them... The first English songs that I was taught as a kid were:

Flies in the Buttermilk, two by two

and a short one that went
"Make new friends
But keep the old
One is silver but the other gold"

After that, it was Yesterday by the Beatles, which we learned from an enthusiastic primary school teacher.

Local Scene???? Full of tribute bands and surf rock!

There's pretty much only Alchemist these days. And no bands want to tour here any more. There's just not enough interest to bring them all the way Downunda (hey, Phil's name is becoming part of my vocabulary!)

Does Lord Kaos still exist? IIRC, one of their members moved to Norway and went on to play in Dimmu Borgir (left the band now though)
I think Destroyer 666 is an Aussie band too, right?
Oh and BloodDuster... a grindcore band - do you know them?

The ant song
(Tune : "When Johnny comes marching home again")

The ants were marching one by one
Hurrah, hurrah,
The ants were marching one by one
Hurrah, hurrah,
The ants were marching one by one
The little one stopped to suck his thumb.
And they all went marching down to the earth, to get out of the rain,

The ants were marching two by two
Hurrah, hurrah,
The ants were marching two by two
Hurrah, hurrah,
The ants were marching two by two
The little one stopped to tie his shoe.....etc.

Three by three ...... to climb a tree,
Four by four ...... to shut the door
Five by five ......to learn to jive,
Six by six ........to pick up sticks,
Seven by seven ......to go to heaven,
Eight by eight .......to shut the gate,
Nine by nine .......to tell the time,
Ten by ten......to say "The end!"

We used to sing this one all the time!

LOL Now you have me reacking my brain for the beginning verses of the Little Suzie songs we used to sing on the playground (clapping hands with each other as we sang) anyway, the end verse(s) go..."Behind the 'frigerator, there is a piece of glass and if you sit down on it, you'll cut your little ASK me no more questions, I'll tell you no more lies, but Suzie's in the kitchen, making more mud pies!"
I know the beginning verses all edge on cussing but then the subject is "changed" as in the example above as so not to actually say any cursewords....it was quite a long ditty lol.
