The Far Cry teaser demo is out and it's very impressive, a must DL to anyone who enjoys FP shooters and has the horsepower to run it.
I've got a XP2400+ with a FX5700 ultra and I needed to back off to 1024x768 resolution with medium quality settings to get reasonable frame rates. I've also been playing the mutiplayer beta that's floating around... again it shows enormous promise. The same lush graphics (I love hiding in the tall grass) and some pretty intense gameplay. The vehicles are pretty interesting, overall I think this might be the game to beat until HL2 & Doom3 come out. |

Holy crap I got the demo from PCGamer and it's amazing, the only thing i have problems with is the limited ammo you get for the SMG and the sniper that doesn't have a silencer.

Played some one on one mp with a buddy last night and the lack of silencer on the sniper isn't an issue, normally the sniper is so far away that no sound makes it to the target. One thing that I thought was cool (when you're the sniper's target) is that you can see sunlight flaring off his scope... lets you know that it's time to duck.
Super cool game, played over the internet with my friend and it was very smooth. Normally with games like COD there's occasional hiccups. Now we're both chomping at the bit for the full game. Lots of levels, weapons and vehicles... heck you can even go parasailing I'm told. And for a beta, the mp game was very polished, a couple more weeks till release. |
