Hehe, I know it was a bit Off Topic, but she often gets praise from Americans who didn't actually have to live under the evil old cow. We have, and I've seen first hand the effects she had on the impoverished and the working class in this country. She was far more than a capitalist - she was the closest we have ever gotten to a totalitarian dictator, and I hope and pray that we never, ever have her like in political power again.

I have noticed the tendancy of leftists to label strong conservatives things like "evil" and "black-hearted." I admire Lady Thatcher for many things, but this is not the place to argue them.

I have noticed the tendency of capitalists to defend people like Thatcher despite her complete lack of morals and utterly despicable character, but you're right - this isn't the place

Here's Elvis Costello's tribute to the woman who stole the milk from my mouth.

She was a very easy person to like if you were extremely wealthy because she made you more wealthy. Easy to admire if you hadn't lived under her jackboot for all of those years. An easy person to admire if you don't give a shit about anyone but yourself!
