I had tickets to see Alice in Chains when they were opening for Metallica once. I thought to myself, man! I can die a happy man after this concert! Well, the band took that temporary break-up at that time, so Candlebox took the stage in their stead.
Later, they regrouped, and I had been looking for another concert to go to...but alas! The man is dead.
Sad as hell. I just wanted to make a public post about it, and see how many fans of theirs is out there.

While it happened almost two weeks ago already and the news is more or less already old, it's sad to see him go... Even though I wasn't that much of an Alice in Chains fan, it was still music I grew up with. He will be missed.

I'd hate to think how many times I've watched AiC Unplugged on video while puffing down a nice fat doob - I'll miss 'em

Layne Staley died. I posted the story on Pandemonium a while ago already. It's been on all the front pages of the big news site. Sorry to hear you had tickets Larry, and yes, it's very sad.

Not the biggest fan either, but songs like Rooster, Rotten Apple and Nutshell are just so good.
