BG Totsc and or Soa for a console system - would you play it and can it be done?

I'm talking about still using something close to the infinity engine. It would be worth it to me to see some improved graphics and to give the NPC's some more personality. The game interface would be kinda difficult because of the limited # of buttons on a controller, but it could also bring a whole new generation of gamers in for the BG expeience. Anyway what do you guys think?

If you werent aware its been done; Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance on PS2. It has nothing to do with the baldurs gate plot line though. As far as im concerned it simply isnt possible to have bg on a console. Keeping the game 2d just wouldnt work (controlling bg with a joy stick, i think not!), so it would be changed into 3d. And its all down hill from there im afraid. Dark Alliance can hardly be called a Baldurs Gate game, it has so little in common with it. You cant create your own character, little side quest depth, ONLY 3 CLASSES!, hack and slash fest, little NPC interaction and a very linear story. There is just too many sacrifices so that it will sell in the console market (they want action) that it simply isnt baldurs gate any more.

They took Quake - and they screwed it up.
They took C&C - and they screwed it up.

Are we seeing a pattern yet?

HAHAHA! Now that is a fact!!!
But also, some console games to PC suck too!

Bg; Dark Alliance was a very poor effort and i was shocked to see a game with the Baldurs Gate title, play so bad...

I am disappointed.........

I am aware of Dark Alliance, thats why i said BG Totsc and Soa, and that's why I also mentioned th infinity engine.
