Hmmm This thread has taken a life of it's own. Remember that most jokes are passed around at the water cooler or in the halls at work. Most jokes donot have an author, but just grew through the retelling. As I stated above I will give credit to any material that I have the source to. Most of the net stuff is republished multiple time so it is ofter impossible to credit the originator. I do use two rules I don't not copy copywritted material (if I know), and I do try to screen the content so not to have any thing too rauncy here. If any of you have troubles with this, please skip my byline.

The life it took on, was apparently my fault. I was only trying to defend you from Yorick's judgement. I have no problem with your joke posting. If he would have just asked you to put a quote or link to source, that would have been fine. But IMO, he has a way of over stating his point, sometimes ruddly. But, as he has pointed out eloquantly that I have this problem too, I will bow to his wisdom, and bow out. It really is no concern of mine, his view on me, but this is your thread, and has been derailed by our debate. Sorry.

I would seriously challenge that assertion. All jokes have an author and originator. If it changes or 'grows' it's because a new author is taking the existing creation and embelishing/altering it.

The fact that you see "generica" where I see human creativity explains much Arvon. Comedy writing is an artform. One that pays well if you write for a sitcom for example.

So please. If you are cutting and pasting from another website, please include a link to the site. It's common courtesy to that website inasmuch as anything else.
