Strangely, the beach version, especially the female games, seems to get more coverage than any other sort these days. Now why could that be

For fun at a sunny day beach - otherwise it's never played much here in England.

I am english, and I have only ever really played Volleyball whilst away on holiday. We did it rarely when i was at school. I quite enjoy the sport actually, and I wouldn't mind it becoming more popular over here. And Rikard, are you secretly working for the popularity and rules board of sports? Every post is about a new sport, but if you want to cause confusion, ask about something obscure such as Fencing,or Dominoes. ------------------ |

It is gaining popularity in schools here. It is really popular on the beach, though.

We californians take beach volleyball VERY seriously, with sponsors from the alcohol producers and sports merchandising industries falling all over each other to sponsor events and get some product recognition.
I love the sport, though I don't get out much to play it anymore. On a slightly off-note - isn't volleyball the most popular sport at naturist resorts?
I got chance to play a bit at school - anything that can be played "mixed" is always good. |
