Yesterday Isend my first little question in and you have a little option to have an e-mail notification for responses

Well the first one came within the hour!!! and by this morning (less than 10 hours later ) I have had approx 6-7 replies. Now that is SERVICE with a smile!!!

So thank you very much ALL of you who wrote back

Onto the next question. One of the frustrating things without a manual, is when you gain a level and you get to choose from a Spell book, you have no idea what the spell is, how it works, who it works on etc

Is there a definitive list of spells and what they are?

Note: It is embarassing running around the start of a game blessing trees, trolls and mogwurs just to see if it work. OR Letting off a Meteor in a confined space - OOPS - Reload

Tks Featherstone

I don't recall there being a list on this board...However there is a copy of the manual, on the W&W install disc (disc 1). Just click on ...'Online Help File'.

If for some reason, that doesn't work....(when I try it ...I get a htm text file...with all the < href= > tags, etc)

...'manual.htm'...is on disc 1...in a folder named 'd6run'....seach for it and open it in Internet Explorer...

You should be able to copy the section on spells and paste into word...then print it.

Yep, we do aim to please around here. Service, especially with a smile, extra dollop of humor, and occasional blast of sarcasm, is our specialty. And it only gets wors- I mean, better.

As Packrat pointed out, the manual should be on the CD. You can look at it online or print it out. I don't remember specifically, but it seems to me you could right-click on a spell in your spell book to get a description. Unfortunately, it's been a while since I've gamed (Missy? Yes, I'll be back soon), so I may be remembering another game.

A short description of some spells. Yes, I consider these spells best Others can add another spells.

Fire
- Burn: Low level offensive spell. One target at range. Good for Valeia
- Flamestrike: More harmful offensive spell. Area at range.
- Illuminate: The best Fiat Lux spell. Much better than Torchlight.
- Artifact of Fire: Needed for enchanting items.
- Incinerate: High level offensive spell. One target at range. Huge damage.
- Firestorm: The most harmful fire based spell. Area at range.

Stone
- Shock: Like Burn but stone-based. Usually better than Burn.
- Elemental Blast: Like Flamestrike but stone-based. Usually better than Flamestrike.
- Negate Magic: Dispels magic effects on the opponents (not on you!). One target at range. Good against Myrathian Wisps (they cast Reflect Damage).
- Artifact of Stone. Needed for enchanting and blessing items.
- Merlin Shield: Greatly boosts your resistance to many magical effects like stoning, paralyzing, instant death and so on. Does not protect against poisoning and diseasing.
- Lightning: Like Incinerate but less efficient.
- Meteorstorm: The most harmful stone based spell. Like Firestorm. Equally good.
- Reflect Damage: Everybody who will try to hit you will be hit as well. Note: you will be hit - the damage is rather "replicated and mirrored" than "reflected".

Fiend
- Bloodlust: Boosts your efficiency in combats. Increases inflicted damage.
- Demonic Fist: Middle level offensive spell. One target at range. Good damage inflicted.
- Frenzy: Greatly boosts your efficiency in combats. Increases inflicted damage considerably but - you will take higher damage from your opponents, too. Very good booster if you have enough HP and if you are equipped with good weapons.
- Artifact of Fiends: needed for blessing items.
- Summon Fiend: The best summoning spell. What will be summoned depends on your Sorcery skill.

Moon
- Artifact of Ice: Needed for enchanting items.
- Vanish: A teleportation spell which can teleport you or your opponent at a short distance somewhere else. You cannot choose the destination of the teleport. One target at range or you. Can be used when you get stuck somewhere or when you try to get somewhere where you should not occur
- Create Portal: Creates the destination point of subsequent Teleport spells.
- Teleport: Teleports to the "portal" created by the Create Portal spell. If there is no portal, the spell fizzles.
- Call of Home: Teleports you to the town which you have visited lastly. Can be cast only in the wilderness. Fizzles in dungeons.
- Icestorm: Like Firestorm but cold based. Usually considerably worse than Firestorm or Meteorstorm.

Spirit
- Heal: Light healing.
- Spirit Eye: Reveals all beings, items on the ground, switches, levers, chests, etc. in your environment on the map. Good for finding levers, chests and items. Less good for checking enemies because the spell also shows all roaches, buterflies, rats, eagles, etc. in your environment.
- Great Heal: Better healing.
- Heroic Might: Bosts your fighting ability considerably. Even a wizard will be able to fight efficiently under this spell.
- Dust to Dust: A really strong cofee for all undeads. One target at range. Does a huge damage but works only on undeads.
- Restore Health. Restores HP to max immediately no matter how low HP were.
- Exorcism: Can heal Insanity and similar effects. Usually needed when you meet a pack of Myrathian Wisps.
- Artifact of Spirit: Needed for blessing items.

Vine
- Haste: Improves your speed.
- Artifact of Vines: Needed for blessing items.
- Cure Poison: Cures poisoning.
- Disarm Traps: Opens locks. Which locks you can open depends on your Sorcery skill. With Sorcery 12, you can open all locks.
- Breath of Air: Replenishes your water supply to max when you are underwater but - it also takes away one half of your HP. Used together with Restore Health.
- Cure: Cures poisoning and diseases (at least).

Would we be interested in having a post with a spell table in the best tip thread? I can do a table of all the spells directly from the manual and host it.. Of course someone would have to tell me how to make a table into a jpg file...

What a great bunch!!!

Featherstone - I hope you have found the manual on your CD - that should solve many frustrations!

Yes indeed, Radek's short description of the spells OR the complete list as in the manual would be an excellent addtion to the BEST TIPS thread (which I really need to get cleaned up and reorganized).
