Are you SOLO or with a party?
I usually tackle WK after paying Gaelan Bayle and completing all the SoA quests (Windspear, Keep, etc, all of them!) This would be chapter 3. You're in chapter 4? That's Spellhold, so you'll have to wait until after chapter 6 until you can venture to WK. |

I usually go to Watcher's Keep just before...
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ... fighting Yaga-Shura. By then, I am of decent level and get to fight tougher monsters( more Xp). I also do it in ToB because I need Cespenar to upgrade the equipment I find in there. |

I like Dundee's approach - or something similiar. Our group usually does WK as the FIRST thing we do when starting TOB.

Fair enough, but I like the challenge of tackling WK early in SoA and also, you get some superior items that you can take through the rest of SoA.
I also find that doing WK in ToB interfers with the story line a little. |
