Part of the reason the best tips thread was started, Chi Master, is that there are so many of these kinds of things -- spells, weapons, armor, quests, dungeons, advancement, monster, and so on -- that when there was a single post for each of them, you had to go back through pages and pages of postings to try and find your answer. I remember doing that when I first started on the boards -- man, was it a pain! And I can imagine what it would have been like on a dial-up connection -- I have cable, so my access is relatively fast.

Plus, when someone does have a question, it's easy to point them to the best tips thread, where they'll probably learn a few more things that they hadn't thought about yet. In order for this thread to really be effective, it has to stay on the front page forever -- and as I look at it, the oldest post that I'm seeing is dated 25 September. So, ten days and it's off? Too much management, and too hard to find any new stuff.

You do raise a point, though. It may be time to consider reorganizing that thread, as we've done with the tech thread. Oh, Willow.... *heads back to the Boogre Bar III*

The Best tip thread will be cleaned up a little when Wyv has more time. There´s already an index in there so at the moment it´s functioning somewhat. That people don´t check it out is just a sign of lazyness I think. Don´t mean to offend anyone! I´m lazy too sometimes

Oh yes - cleaning up the BEST TIPS thread - a project that needs doing badly!

I actually tried to start on it one day just by grabbing the posts page by page but as I was pasting them into a word document for me to use each page was being indented further and further to the right. My connection was terribly slow that day too so I gave it up. I do need to get back to it.

Basic thoughts on reorganization were to organize it thusly:

Beginning game
..... Tips relating to getting a game going including Patch and bugs
General
..... Tips that relate to game play throughout the whole game, climbing
..... ladders, items needed, icon meaning reference and stuff of that nature
Town and surrounding areas
..... Valeia
..... Ishad N'Ha
..... Brimloch Roon
Advanced
..... Charts on classes, spells, enchanting and blessing etc.

Any suggestions would be welcomed! And I still need to learn how to do all the nifty HTML pop to place link things and the other bells and whistles! lol!!
