The title says it all... from Yahoo Weird News

Quote:

BERLIN (Reuters) - A thirsty German sold his 6-year-old step-daughter's pet beagle to the owner of a bar to pay for beer, the Bild newspaper reported on Friday.

The unemployed man offered to take the dog for a walk and then stopped at a bar where he convinced the owner to buy the 3-year-old dog for 40 euros ($53).

The man spent the proceeds quenching his thirst for beer. The bar owner has now returned the dog to its owner.

*edit* Selling your dog for beer is cool... stupid, but cool. Selling your kid's dog for beer is just downright pathetic.

Had to get that perspective point in there. Happily, the kid has her dog back in spite of the step-dufus' idiocy.

*double-edit* Apparently BILD magazine, the source of the story, may not be all that truthful. Any Germans or Berliners able to help on the truth of the story?

What a determined guy, i bow to his iron will to get his drink. It's drink or die in this world, and this man knows how the game is played.

A possible worthy future barbrawl/drinkingcontest opponent.

He would have gotten at least two sixpacks more out of it.

And if you use dogs as money, you don't have to pay taxes!
