Hey all!

I just wanted to see what everyone else thought was the hardest starting class and race for a solo character. So far, I have two suggestions:

*Oomphaz Rogue* (ouch)
*Pixie Rogue* (cough, cough.....)

Tell me what you think, because I want to try a solo game with the hardest beginning character as voted by the members of this forum.

Cheers,

Moiraine Sedai
(PS. Congrats to Bungleau on the new ~STICKY~ thread for missy hissy!)

A pixie rogue boogre vampire character, definitely.

Create a party and get through to the boogre caves. Create a new pixie rogue in Valeia. Have the character visit Lysandra for the vampire trait and then let the party visit the boogre caves. Get out of the caves as fast as possible and reset the game.

We are still looking forward to that addition to your homepage, Olli Kalma.

The class definitely has to be rogue... no guilds until Ishad N'ha-ha-ha.

The race... hmmmm.... I don't think I've ever played a pixie... do they have the armor troubles that an oomphaz does? If so, pixie should be more difficult hands-down. The Oomphaz' mana seed trait is a bigger advantage than dodge, I think.

And for side afflictions, Boogrism and vampirism definitely take the cake. You might consider a cursed character too -- can only use cursed items, nothing that does well.

Suddenly, I have an idea where those three hundred healing potions that Missy found would have become useful....

Anyway, that's my vote... and thanks for your thoughts on the sticky thread. I'll try to do it justice.

All solo characters become gods sooner or later. No hardest solo character exists. Nevertheless, you can make problems to yourself in the beginning of the game by choosing some combinations of classes and races. Thiefs are a good example - they cannot train in Valeia. On the other hand, a pixie is stronger than you think - unless you select a pixie because you want problems with defensive magic

yup, it's true that a rogue could prove troublesome, so maybe u can try an oomphaz rogue as u said earlier!
REAL challenge, it will be!

I'm working with Pixie wizard-warlock-vampire, but I havn't get her alive out from Boogre Prison...
Now I'm taking couple of her friends with her and make her Boogre!

What I wanted was, new character, hitted by Lysandra, then into Boogre Prison.
That because he/she wouldn't have some much XP...

If anyone knows way to get out B.Prison without walking it trought I would try to make Pixie-Vampire into Boogre too!

Olli,

What about bringing another character and casting Create Portal as soon as you enter the prison? does that work it, or are you prevented from casting spells immediately?

Failing that, I'd try the athletic jump out of the dowel room. It can work...

Or perhaps getting a party in there, but letting the pixie-vampire-whatsis get killed off quickly? I don't think you get XP if you're dead...

Just a thought (or two).

I got an idea. I believe Radek had a post on entering the Boogre Caves from the rear entrance. If one could do that and create a portal by that entrance, one might be able to lead the pixie in from the front entrance, get the boogreism trait, teleport to the rear entrance/exit as soon as one got out of the cage, and then leave the Caves and teleport back to Ishad N'ha without gaining any experience points at all. I will see if I can find Radek's post and bump it up.

This won't go. Once you enter the prison, no matter whether you enter through the front entrance or the rear one, your spellcasting is completely disabled until you leave the cage.
If you enter through the front entrance, you will regain your spellcasting ability quickly - after the dialogue with the boogre guard. But if you enter through the rear entrance, you will regain your spellcasting ability only after reaching the boogre guard near the front entrance. You can kill him and use the game feature "killing the trigger triggers the action" - in our case, killing the boogre guard opens the cage and reenables your spellcasting ability. Another possibility seems to be: Let S'Keser'Da to make a boogre from you and then talk with the guard even if you are outside the cage. I haven't tried it. Therefore, go through the maze and then go to the front entrance and kill the guard. Only now, you can return to the rear entrance and create a portal there.
Therefore, you cannot avoid getting lots of XP most likely. Good, you can let the jungle lillies and the boogres near Priskiela be when you go to the boogre guard but what will happen when you will be returning? I am almost sure that they will not sleep any more. In fact, the whole action with the rear entrance seems to be of no advantage here: why you cannot enter through the front entrance and run to the backdoor? It should be the same.
