For Ruby and Wyrd:

The Grimlock you sought after with your mind was discovered, and locked onto. It's mentality was not hard to crack and it stood still, seemingly a zombie but inside it's mind, it was trying to figure out what the heck was happening. The other three Grimlocks sniffed the fear rise in thier companion but had no idea what was worrying him. They remained hiding and licking thier wounds.

However, you have been detected by the hunting party that have just killed the Elders. Eleven hounds approach you and circle your area, making escape impossible. They slowly close in, sniffing the air as they move for any attack you may be trying. Their eyes and fangs can be seen clearly in this light of teh caverns. The rest of thier bodies seem to be one with the darkness.

Wyrd the lion, had separated himself from his master in the Northwestern area of the spacious cavern to hunt a hound that had attacked Syrathic in the Northeast. The attack was successful catching the hound off-guard. The hound took considerable damage, and tried to defend it's life.

OOC>>>

I have no idea why Wyrd would seperate himself from his master to walk all the way to the other end of the cavern to fight one hound when a pack of them were so close. I don't think you have been reading all the posts I have made. Now, the hounds have you circled and your best friend is fighting another fight.

Wyrd has injured the hound, and has it on the defensive.
Ruby has locked minds with the Grimlock and can now control it.

For Dantes:

The spell was a success and set out to impose pain upon the poor four Grimlocks now entangled in the tentacles. Their screams could have awaken the dead as they were assaulted by the magical fist, yet not able to free themselves from the hold of the painful tentacles.

When both spells had ended their duration...four Grimlock remains were all that was left.

OOC>>>

Dantes has killed four Grimlocks with his powerful spells. Nice work!

Anarrima HP 60/60

She saw that her spell has stopped the advance of one of the Grimlocks. A smile could not help from lighting her face. She began another spell that would further help, but as she did an unseen attacker had assailed her. It was a Shadow Hound and it had taken by surprise. As she lay on the ground, it began to maw at her, tearing away her flesh as fiercely as it could.

Brendon HP 41/70

He had gained the upper hand on his opponent in the one on one hand combat and had overpowered the Grimlock. Finally ending the melee with a blow of the axe to it's head, Brendon turned to the other Grimlock that was frozen to chop him down like a tree. Then he dropped the stolen axe in terrible anguish. To his utmost horror, he saw a hound eating away at Anarrima. Was she still alive? Realizing he did not have his bow as it had fallen somewhere, Brendon ran at the attack, hoping to get there in time to throw the beast off her before she was destroyed.

OOC>>>

-The Hound has sneak-attacked Ana for 19 HP dmg.
-Brendon has killed 1 Grimlock.

Syrathic HP:62/74

Syrathic slashed at the Grimlock's arm, and to his relief was released from the Grimlock's grasp. Unfortunately, he was pushed straight into the hound that had been sitting there, just waiting to get another piece of the Elf. Syrathic could only grunt in pain as he was bit on the arm again.

Suddenly, the hound was attacked, and the Elf saw Ruby's lion friend attacking. "Thanks, Wyrd," he said to the lion before turning toward the large, ugly Grimlock. The Elf's grip on his blades tightened as he watched the Grimlock's reaction to its cut arm. With a quick charge, Syrathic attacked it again, slashing with one blade then thrusting at the Grimlock's chest with the other. He wanted this to end quickly; he knew he would be needed elsewhere. If he finished here quick enough, he could then help Wyrd with the hound.

Kethotar (82/82)

Kethotar was quickly back up on his feet after he had been knocked down by the hound. His armor had saved him from any damage, so he was still fully ready to fight the shadow creature.
Seeing as the hound hadn't retreated into the shadows yet, the ranger quickly charged it. He would hate to see his enemy disappear from him. Keeping the axe in front of him and his sword raised high above his head, he leaped towards the dog, bringing his long sword fast and hard down against it. He had carefully aimed towards the dog's neck, knowing that it would be fatal for him if he missed the creature completely.

For Syrathic

The Grimlock heard your approach and tried to react, but the beat did not have a weapon in it's hand. Mercilessly, the blades bit and cut, and the Grimlock fell. It had no desire to fight anymore, and just wanted the elf to go away.

ooc>>>

Your critical hit has caused the Grimlock to turn yellow and cower.
He's your's for the killing.

For Kethotar

The hound was not fast enough, and Kethotar bore down upon him. The hound's cry of terror was a horrible sound to hear, however, and this is what it did. The baying was loud and it hurt one's ears to hear it. A roll was calculated for Kethotar for save vs fear. Kethotar successfully made the roll. the weapon continued in it's momentum and struck the hound.

Now, three other hounds were swirling in the shadows, forming a perimeter around the scene. One was most eager and began it's charge...becoming substancial as it left the confines of shadow. The other two watched and swirled, only visible by their eyes which would go away, then return in another place in the perimeter.

OOC>>>

The attacked hound was hit critically.
Three hounds have heard the call and have come to deal with you.

Your move.

Kethotar (82/82)

Kethotar cursed to himself as the hound started screaming. It hurt his ears so bad that it still echoed in there, causing him more pain and making it harder for him to concentrate. He endured it for the time it lasted, though, without suffering from it.
What really made him so irritated, was the fact that the howl had made more hounds come flocking around him. There was three that he could notice, and one of them had already come out from the shadows. He slowly started walking backwards. "Some help would be appreciated," the ranger muttered with a low and common tone to the human he had met, as he noticed he was still nearby. He then immediatly started mumbling some words, forming the spell Barkskin with slow movements. Once it was complete, and if he had not been interrupted by the hounds, he would charge them one by one, starting with the one that had moved out of the shadows.

ooc does that mean that I have fewer to deal with lol.

Shadow ~~39/51~~

The floating blade had struck true, causing the beast to fall back and it's companion to become more wary, both a good and bad thing. It would help keep the monstrous dog at bay, but it would also become more cautious now and more dangerous to approach.

The shadow on two legs circled with the two hounds edging slowly closer to the injured one, hoping to finish it off before dealing with it's companion. He struggled with the pain in his limbs feeling the strength leaving one arm, as he tried to recall one of the lessons an ancient (even by elven terms) druid had taught him about defending himself from wild animals. The knowledge would not come, however, and he found himself near enough to the injured hound to ready an attack, so with the practiced ease of a summer breeze, the longsword seemingly floated wide from the hound, leaving an opening for the wounded shadowhound, as it took the bait (ooc: assuming it does) the blade returned lightning fast to slice the hound as the shadowy one spun past it and launched a second attack at it's exposed side.

OOC when I spun past I (attempted to) hit it, hopefully distracting it with pain enough to move to it's other side, and attack again, before it sees where I went, I am still on the defensive (+2 AC bonus) and not taking my eyes from the other hound.

For Kethotar

The hound that was advancing sees that you are casting a spell, and pauses momentarily as though it were expecting your assault. When it sees that you have cast a defensive spell however, it resumes its march...head low, growing like the demonic beast it is...then leaps at your throat.

Meanwhile...the other two dogs were whirling around in a strange unison, becoming faster in their route. Suddenly their shadowy darkness began to merge and a spiral shape formed upward and into a humanoid shape. The shadowy human-like personage bore down upon you with menacing green eyes as it rasied a hand and muttered a strange syllable, barely audible. A black flamed arrow flew toward it's target, striking the elf. Then, as the spell was cast, the figure was no more to be seen, and the hounds were back...watching the show.

OOC>>>

You have been struck by an unidentified arrow and it has damaged your barkskin by .75 You have the strangest feeling that you are being toyed with.

Your move. The dog is coming for you, and you have the first reflexive strike.
