ummm, yeah i think thats all hes supposed to do... its probably just to add to the feel that you are actually playing in a game world... like things are happening besides your fight with irenicus. it basically serves the same purpose as all those books that black ilse have spents hours writing. they have no real purpose in the game.

He also insults your mother. Summon a pit fiend to deal with him. : P

My rep? Of course not, I have no say over what the pit fiend does. If he chooses to kill the town crier, so be it. Then everybody's happy.

Zoratorak, please, relax! It's a game. Towns have criers who go out and keep the people informed. he is there to add authenticity to the game. he could very well be setting things up for BG3, who knows? I read his little stories, went on with the game and never concerned myself with him again. I think most other people here did too. he's just there.

He talks about the wars in the Colony of Maztica. It's tied to the the Forgotten Realm Novels where the colony tries to get it independance over Amn If I remember correctly. Amn sent over troops to secure the colonies plus Priest of Helm (that action has lowered the guardian god's worship) in the hopes of regaining control of them. anyways like it's been mention above it has no real bearing on the game save put you in the mind set of the Amnish people.
It's like in BG1 where the guy in the docks tells you the world is round and there are lands to be explored past Kara-tur. About Gating Demons I did it and never lost rep for the rampage it causes nor gain experiance from it's kills. |

He just craps on about bullshit about some war which has nothing to do with the game. Background info is what he does. Cast time stop, greater malison, then finger of death, power word kill, abi dalzims horrid wilting, symbol death, symbol stun, disintegrate, meteor swarm, and incendiary cloud on him.
That MAY be a bit of overkill... |

For that annoying twerp, nothing is overkill. Personally, something slower and painful is best. Ask Boo to chew his balls off or ask Anomen to recite a riveting tale...
