Question. I have a longstanding multigame of BGII that I definitely do NOT want to mess with. I am also wanting though to try TOEE, which requires DirectX9. Does anyone know if BGII will work fine with DirectX9? I do not want to do anything that will jeopardize our multigame of BGII, and so my question is, will DirectX9 affect playing BGII multigaming if I load it on?

I have directx9 on my system (from Freelancer) and have not noticed any problems with BG2 singleplayer games. You might want to make a backup of your game just in case, but I don't think that your version of directX has any direct effect on BG2 besides allowing the graphics to draw properly. Someone else might want to chime in here about multiplayer, especially whether all of the copies of BG2 need to be running the same version of DirectX, or if that is not an issue.

Yeah that is what I was wondering. I'm not the host of our multiplayer game, but we do all have the same patches, etc., so I just don't want to do anything that will make it to where we cannot play because I have DirectX9.

It shouldn't make a difference I would think, I'm just not sure though..

Until I know, I'm just not going to install TOEE, cause again our BGII multigame is the most cherished game I play right now.

Picked up DX 9 from the website updates. No problems with it so far.
