howdy ho
i was playing baldurs gate 1 on the internet with my friend over a dsl conneciton. For some reason it was lagging very bad, now normally it would be because of my slow computer but a few days before i was playing baldurs gate 2 SoA and it wassnt lagging at all any one know why it does this?

Not sure if I'm anywhere near the correct solution since I don't have my game manual with me, but perhaps you are not both set to the same speed? Also make sure you minimize the amount of non-essential background programs that are running.

also are u playing with full install or standard? Make sure its full install as loading times Will be much quicker. Bear in mind though that if you are not playing on full install then if you upgrade to that your friend also has to or else the game wont work.

but i dont think there was the full install option
there was just standard, small and custom. i really want to play this online

if BG2 works fine you could try BGT or BGtutu.
They give you BG1 on the BG2 engine and therefore would allow you to play BG1 online with refined rules and graphics and without lag.

although BGT will take them a while to DL. but I suppose theyve got dsl (lucky b**tard
