LET ME GO!!!!!!!
LOL well, you're such a good sport, I'll wake up long enough to set that right! How's work out your way? Spending lots of time on briefs and paperwork or are you in court most days? I was a juror on a felony case (marijuana sales) last year. I couldn't believe they opened the whole courthouse on a Saturday for us to come in and deliberate! Took a week from start to finish (ie, jury selection to verdict) and we put in FULL days. Can't imagine how much MORE time the attorneys put in!

Whew! Thanks for letting me go, Ms. WelcomeWagon.

As for work, I'm busier right now than a one-legged dude in an ass-kickin' contest. And, it's all day every day - I take work home, etc. and end up putting in 12 hrs or so a day.

But, since I'm still a newbie (class 2000), I'm getting great experience. My small firm pays crappy, but for instance just the other day I walked into the hallowed halls of one of Chicago's BigLaw firms for a settlement meeting on a $1mil. case. I passed several offices of busy little research/writing worker bee 5-yr. attorneys who make 2X+ what I do. I, however, went into the conference room with their boss's boss and 4 other 20-yr attorneys to do real business. Don't get me wrong, I'd trade it for the right $$$$, especially considering school loans which I can only defer and forebear for so long. But, I'd certainly be missing out on great experience.

Well I can believe you're busy! I know people joke about attorneys getting paid alot to do nothing, but having seen the court room drama up close, I can say it looked like they did a LOT of work and had to adjust their own personal and professional schedules to meet the COURT and jury's schedules, so I sympathize!

I suppose when you are head partner in a big firm you can kick back and let the lower ranks do most of the footwork, though!

OOOOOOH! Cable at Colleen's! Wow, you really are moving up in that relationship! Cool that you can be 'on call' and still visit with her, though!

LoL Errrr I would dude, but technically according to state law, they cannot finish the divorce proceedings for another 10 days....Maryland has a 1 year waiting period...so I don't want to complicate her divorce finalizations. then I'll move in.
