I work at a mall in the Boston area, and believe it or not , our sales were up all weekend!!!! Alot of tragedy hit close to home this week and I was at first a bit taken back that anyone wanted to go out and buy movies, dvds, cds and vidoe games. Yet there they were, in droves. This, I took as a sign of the resilience of American people to go back to thier normal course of life, and in a way support the country's economy that some have speculated would collapse into reccession from the pressure of the recent events. Today, our distric manager told us in a conference call that he was very proud of our efforts to stay focused on work and that we played a part in comforting and reassuring people that life does go on. It was an perspective I hadn't thought of before today, but I believe it now. I just thought I would share my optimism that we will rebuild our lives, finding peace and security again in a country where these ideals are taken for granted sometimes. Never again! Shop on America!!!

I've actually started buying more since the attack. I figure it's one way I can fight terrorism.
