When I completed the toad potion quest, I got a reward and a guild level increase from level 1 to level 2 for the priest guild. Same thing happened in the wizard guild when I completed Scabban's quest. Yet when I completed the Mon the Sculz quest for the warrior guild I got a reward but NO guild level advancement. I am still at level 1 warrior guild. Is this supposed to be or is this a bug?

sit tight, you're cool. This is supposed to happen. You have three quests in each guild but only two promotions available--max guild level attainable in Valeia is 3. One quest in each Valeia guild will be completed without guild promotion.

Thanks Phantomwid. I am glad it is not a bug. Now I will know that one of the two other quests for the priest and wizard guild will not lead to a guild level advancement.

The quests from the guilds in Valeia are:

WARRIOR:
1. Kill Mon the Sculz 200 XP No Advancement
2. Visit Toad Villages 200 XP Guild Level 2
3. Retrieve Sword of Mastus 500 XP Guild Level 3

WIZARD:
1. Check on Scabban 200 XP Guild Level 2
2. Kill Tevik Teporn 200 XP No Advancement
3. Retrieve Orb of Clarity 500 XP Guild Level 3

PRIEST:
1. Deliver Toad Potion 200 XP Guild Level 2
2. Donate to Temple Treasury 500 XP Guild Level 3
3. Retrieve Ring of Saints 200 XP No Advancement

Yes Bloodbeard, let's get a complete quest list in the story archive hints section, including those quests you don't normally get like the last wizard quest and how you can get them.

1. Slay the Darkened one in the Temple of Isis 2500 XP, Guild Level 5
2. Slay Bloodbeard the Pirate 5000 XP, Guild Level 6

TOWN HALL:
1. Kill the insane Centaur, 2500 GP 2500 XP
2. Slay the 3-headed Hydra on the Isle of Sands, 10000 GP 10000 XP

SHIPYARD:
1. Return 3 conch shells to Brimley 200 GP 200 XP (ongoing)

Note that due to design error, some of the quests are very difficult to get (such as the Anephas Shrine quest for the Wizard's Guild because you (normally) have to go through the Shrine to get to the area where you find the Bark Horrors (Living Trees). There are workarounds (such as mine about tree-surfing over to the Lost Sea area from Brimloch Roon), or stealing the seed from Oakenmir (which only one character may get credit for, remember).

Also, without the patch, some quests repeatedly pay off every time you enter the Guild, such as the Jathil quest for the Priest's Guild in Ishad N'ha, the Leprechaun Quest in the Thieves Guild of Brimloch Roon, and the Grue Morde Assassin quest in either Thieves' Guild.

Carg- thanks for the suggestions. 1) Gineleng...that's right. I never could remember his fool name. Has anyone other than me noticed (and been annoyed) that so many of the quest monsters have the same name, or so many of them start with the letter "G"? EX: Gliebott, Galian, Doshi-Gin, Goshin (see how close those last two are), Gineleng...Then there's Scabban and Scanthril...VERY confusing...I mean, couldn't the designers have varied the names just a little more??

2) Yep, you're right about the level increases. Thanks. I was assuming for those who had started from scratch.

3) That I did _not_ know about asking for another quest stops the previous one...except I don't think that works on the Thieves' Guild in Brimloch, because when I asked for another quest and there was none, he still kept giving me credit for both the Leprechaun AND Grue Morde (7500 XP collectively...pretty cool).

I'll fix up the list, put in a table format, and send it to Slip. Hopefully it'll be something he can use.

Great Sazerac, I always wanted such a list next to me when I'm playing, but somehow never got around to write down my own.
Have you already sent it to FreudianSlip?
A few nitpicks:
- the crazy centaur's name is Gineleng
- for those who don't immediately join all guilds the guild level you mention is misleading; I'd prefer to call it guild level increase or something.
- All repeated reward bugs happen also with the patch. (Until you ask for a new assignment; that stops the rewards even if there is no new assignment.)

I ran across something interesting....
my samurai is a member of Warlock guild level 3
and he is one of two member that has this quest: Return Ardibren's Relic

when I came back with it, I did this extra/bonus exp points cheat routine.
after it was over, I discovered that my samurai's warlock guild level is up to 7!
