Now you're mixing the two. Tieflings have a 1 lvl penalty, which was my ranger/sorceress. My drow was a cleric/mage. Anyways, I'm gonna try to make the perfect party before I run through this again (how many times now?). I'll post it to see if it will be as successful as my last.

re party construction, ecl or multi spell casters are likely best avoided, or minimized, a level or two of a secondary class can be a great addition, but be careful of the 20% penalty.

spell selection - i notice you don't have many spells that focus on whole areas, in the caves spells like grease, spike growth, web, entangle (i don't recall if that one works undrground) but those spells can tie up the hordes of goblins, while you pick away at them w/ missles + mass damage spells like fireball or even the snowball swarm or burning hands.

also those grenade type potions, flaming oil, lamp oil, explosions, ect. can mitigate your lack of spell power, and they help clear out the crowds.
