Edwin's feet too big for the boots of speed ?

I wanna'd ewdin to have some fun on his own ... so let him do some missions solo, but,
When i equip the boots of speed, he doesnt go any faster ... the boots do work on both me and viconia ( only other party-members).

I allreay have ToB installed and Baldurdas' s complete fixpack too ...

( edwin is feeling a little feminine right now, could that be part of the problem ?? )

Do you have a ring of free action equiped?Perhaps this is the cause.

nope ... only two rings that get him (even) more spells ...

that's really strange.

if you download the Baldurdash Boots of Speed fix for ToB or SoA, whichever you have, it should fix it, and several other problems, as well.

I had a similar problem once... Minsc couldn't walk faster with the boots of speed. I noticed he wore the Ring of Free Action, so I took it off. And after that he still couldn't walk faster. Only when I saved the game and reload it it worked. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Be sure Edwin has no other item that grants free action, or a spell active that does so.

Baldurdash's Edwin's "movement rate change problem fix" for ToB doesn't work.
The problem is because BGmain.exe for ToB is not the same as for SoA.
So when you plan to recruit Edwin, first play SoA without ToB installed, otherwise you won't be able to clear this problem.

Only known way to deal with it is to manually delete all "sexchange" effects from Edwin. You may do that with hex editor definetly, with Near Infinity probably, and with ShadowCheater - but I'm not sure you should use this util, it tends to mess your game when you start some "creativity" business.

if you remove the ring of free action, then the boots of speed won't work until you take them off and put them on again. the reloading a savegame fixes it because it automatically applies all item bonuses when you load the game. (i.e. not invisible with Staff of Magi when saved, but invisible when loaded) The game recalculates bonuses when you put the item back on.

EDIT: yes, edwin's little masquerade creates all sorts of problems, many of which aren't fixed when he returns. Baldurdash has a specific patch just for this.
