Should I become a mage/fighter...would I then be able to cast magic when wearing plate and weapon or am I under restrictions...I´ve never really user the dualling capability since my patience ain´t that good!

You can wear armour but can't cast spells while wearing it, you can use weapons that mages can't usually though

Well you can wear Bladesinger +4 and cast magic.
 Its a damn good if you are dual classing or multi classing.
