Baldur's Gate. I can play Baldur's Gate all day for months, Diablo only was fun in the start when you didn't knew how to play it. After that it was too much hack&slash.

I selected Diablo series, although I found Diablo 2 to be only mildly entertaining. As much as I've played BG1, it doesn't begin to compare to my years of playing multiplayer D1, which is still the best action rpg of all time IMNSHO Besides, D1 has cooler cursed items.

BG versus Diablo? What the question again? There *is* no contest. BG.

Although Diablo 1 is very good in MP, but who can run MP for hours on end?Except you evil ones with always-on broadband of course.

BG far and above! Sure, Diablo 2 can be fun (D1 sucked IMO) but all you do is kill things. You go through it saying "Ok, what's the next quest? Oh... go kill *fill in name of boss.* Didn't I kill him 3 acts ago? Oh, that was a different one..." The only real good point is the skill building. BG on the other hand has numerous quests, of varying types, a completely maleable character building system (with the possible exception of NWN/3E DnD), and great villians. Instead of the Diablo 2 quest gaining response you go "Oh wow, I've never done that!" Or if you HAVE done a similar quest you at least expect something more than simply hordes and hordes and hordes (and hordes and hordes and hordes) of monsters keeping you from your goal. In fact, there's more journeying and exploration than monster-slaying.

Ok, time to get off my soap-box
