IIRC, Nym's the little punk who sold out the dwarves and elves in IWD1...I'm kinda reluctant to let him walk off scot-free. Does he show up later on, after he disappears from the village in Chapter 3, or is he history? 'Cause I'd like to slip a bastard sword between his ribs...

This is Nym's only appearance in the game. Knock him off if you want to; just be sure you've bought everything you want from him first. Dunno how the villagers might feel about this, though, so save first. Just in case

I killed him for fun, villagers didnt do any thing about it. I got a plus 3 short sword from him. I thought it was worth it.

Since we are talking about Nym... What exactly is his goal in the game? He give us some clues, and then diseaper forever. Why would he do that?

This is one of those silly plot points in the game. Nym's main function is to get you to go through the Underdark, so you'll help out some Drow there. Why he should then turn around and give away your location makes no sense whatever.
Of course, I&M will still appear at the gate, even if you kill Nym. |

IMHO, Nym is the quintessential drow merchant/mercenary. He has no loyalty beyond what gold you give him provides, and then only until someone ups the bid. He tells you about the underdark b/c malavon paid him to. He tells Isair and Madea about you b/c if he didn't they probably would have killed him.

That's it, he's dead.
Thank you, all.

well Nym the character which is closed to us all
well 1st he is a merchant - needing free trade routes - that why he 'helped' us 2nd why should a merchant stands beween us and our demon-like enemies - thats why he betrayed us - it was the easiest way to get away from them I LIKE HIM
