illusionist using necromantic spells?

in my party i have a gnome (mc)fighter/illusionist therefor that must mean that she cannot cast spells under the domain of necromancy right?.i was just getting ready for a big fight(one of the cold wight legions in dragons eye lvl 3) and i was popping off some area of effect spells and i cast a skull trap without looking and it worked what is this? the spell was off a scroll not from my rather small spell book. Is this a bug or can a specialist mage cast opposition spells from scrolls?
lol if i have got the oppostion schools wrong then please forgive me as i have not got the rule book handy.

(Just in case you haven't been greeted before and to prevent further frustrations)

The answer is yes, specialist mages can cast opposition school spells from scrolls, but they can't scribe them in their spellbooks.
The plain IWD listed only necromancy as opposition school for illusionists, however HOW changed this, and most of the specilaist mages now have two opposition schools. In HOW oppositon schools for illusionist are necromancy and abjuration.
