I do believe that if you want to buy a drink in the Boogre Bar to celebrate reaching a post milestone, that's okay Just not starting a whole new thread...

And if I'm wrong, Wyvern will thump me gently and educate me

Hmmm... I've never really used Pry or Disarm Trap. I may have to consider those....

I'm in the process of re-reinstalling W&W on my XP box. I've done some pretty impressive things in the process... impressive in the bad sense, that is. Didja ever manage to put a file in a directory that caused Explorer to crash within a few seconds of looking at the directory? I did...

This week's travelling is over, though, so I will get some game time in

The spells have their justification in any party. Whereas a jammed lock can never be picked or smashed with violence it CAN be opened by one of the spells.

Sounds like a most excellent way to celebrate a posting level!

It can happen if you try to unlock the lock by force. After several unsuccessful bashings, you can get a message that the lock is jammed.
Now, you cannot open the lock neither "regularly" nor by force. The only possibility is a spell.

ouch, lol. i never tried opening a lock by force, or with a spell, i always keep a rogue with lots of traps & locks(i think thats the name of the skill)

i always wondered how it was possible to open locks in a single party that dosent have disarp trap, pry, or traps & locks, sounds risky though

To say nothing of annoying ... I only tried a solo w/o any of those once, and it was impossibly annoying. Even with super high Strength, all but the most trivial took multiple multiple bashings to open.

You start getting awfully creative at ways to avoid opening chests (like stacking up to Kreug's study in the Serpent Temple, for example ...)
