The tap water here is mostly perfect. Even the water from the lake is good enough for drinking most of the time. I've never had any deadly diseases from it.

I can remember buying bottle water once or twice, for the bottle.

I've got a couple of used Evian bottles that I use to get gin and tonic into cinemas and galleries, so I guess I must've bought bottled water at some point

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but...

Did you know that technically you're not supposed to reuse the water bottles you buy? The plastic is not made for long term use and breaks down and gets bacteria in it that can't be cleaned out. It can give you bochelism (or however you spell it). Now, I'm not saying don't do it, just giving you the FYI. I'm sure many of you are thinking "Pfft, I've done it for years and haven't died yet!" But remember I told you! :0)

REI sells water bottles (minus the water) that are made for long term use.

Buying bottled water here would be like buying sand in the the Sahara desert... the tap water it delicious, specially at work, were I only have to let it run for about 20 seconds and it's sprinkly (for lack of a better word ). extremely clean and insanely cold.

I buy distilled water, where all the impurities have been boiled out, as LadyZeke said, the tapwater here is terrible, but tapwater is what you get from spring water.

Salinye's point is a good one. I saw a report on our local news once this past year that indicated you are drinking water/etc from that reused over and over bottle that would not pass sanitary requirements for any city in the US. Bacteria and chemical processes that your own saliva start are going on in there, even if you 'rinse' it out. They recommend that if you use a sports bottle or some other refillable container, you wash it in hot soapy water every day.

I do buy some bottled water, mainly as I like mine carbonated. Our tap water isn't too bad, taste-wise and my husband keeps some in the refrigerator all the time.

I buy water frequently, mainly because Edmonton tap water sucks unless you have some sort of filter. Tastes terrible.
