F***ing hell Alex, get a doctor to check that wound ASAP, sounds REALLY bad, I hope your hand isn't permanently damaged though.

Don't mess around with a burn like this, Alex. It could get infected or something. Please go to a doctor and have them look at it.

Also, see if you have some type on non-greasy salve at home (or go buy some).
Barring that, LadyZ's idea of cold water is great for pain relief. And change any bandage frequently the first few days. Especially if you get it wet.

from one Alex to a fellow Alex...
go get your hands on some aloe vera ointment, man...you should be able to find some at a pharmacy somewhere. if you use that daily on the burn, it will promote quicker regeneration of your skin cells, it will soothe any pain you might have, and may even lessen the severity of any scarring. make sure you find an ointment that's as pure aloe vera as possible (try to avoid any other additives...) the plant in itself (the gel within it, actually) is notoriously effective in treating skin burns.
sorry to hear about what happened. few things are more physically painful than a burn...

Yes, debaser...aloe is good!

That also reminded me...I've gotten a few burns and more than a few lacerations...Vitamin E oil is good. You can sometimes find it in a bottle in oil form, or you can buy the gelcaps and puncture it with a needle and squeeze it out onto the wound. But I wouldn't suggest the E until the wound has healed a bit as you don't want anything oily IN the burn.

Beterschap!!! *big hug*
