You are think of common law practices when you talk about common courtesy. And, yes common courtesy have become laws, but it has not in this instance. If it does, then we all will come across that bridge when we need to. Personally with the popularity of the BG games, and the coming NWN (which will use similar portrait dynamics as BG if I remember right) personalizing characters through portraits, soundsets, scripting, and so forth we as gamers and webmasters should continue working out the problems with these issues. Think about this, would you want to be called, e-mailed, icqed 24-7 by gamers who want to use your artwork. I think that would be more annoying than anything else!

HA! Well, I am trying to become more civil with my tongue and respect other people's POV better as long they respect my POV. In essence I am "do unto others as they do unto you" type of guy, though on occasion I do let my temper get the best of me, like in the early volleys at PBG.

The forum isn't a bad design and you have some good people here. I do think TeamBG's forum is the best yet after Ken's lil tweaking. TeamBG e-mail is back up, you can pm in the forum, link to a chat room, look at profiles, see who is and ins't on the "banned" list, yet still go to their websites or keep in touch easier, links to the primary chat room and to the two main boards of mods and utilities. It all very well designed in my opinion. The Elysium has an untweaked version of TeamBG's and their are pretty cool. Ironworks and Eric Noah's forum are decently made and very easily navigatable. The Forumplanet just bugs me, it seems odd. PBG forum looks archaic and down right useless.

Here's my rating (on a scale of 10)
Ken's TeamBG 8.5
The Elysium 8
Ironworks 7
Eric Noah's 7
Forumplanet 5
PBG 3

I like forums that have nested posts. The smilies Ziroc put up are cool, and I have to admit I like the ratings: they're stars, they're cute and they turn colors!

As far as the function/form aspect of forums, I haven't been on all that many different types to form a critical opinion. I know when I don't like how certain things work in a forum, but I haven't gotten to the point of being able to do that on a forum as a whole.

Mebbe someone should do a "forumsthatsuck" site to go along with "webpagesthatsuck."
