This one is aimed at people who are unfamiliar with Dungeon Craft. If you don't know what DungeonCraft is, its a game that is being created in the style of the old SSI Dungeons and Dragons Goldbox games, and its successor FRUA (Forgotten Realms Unlimited Adventures) which let you design your own goldbox-style games. The FRUA game drew a modest fan base, and people were making and distributing games (and even hacking the code to make more options available, as the "unlimited" part was still fairly limiting...)
Now, DungeonCraft is already better than what FRUA was, and is going to be what FRUA should have been all along... Its got more options and better control over the adventure making process, its being made by an awesome programmer who takes the suggestions of the people and makes them happen, and features much better art capabilities. Best of all, its 100% FREE!!!! To get an idea of what DC is, check out the web sites (and Download it, if you want): http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/dung...ft/index.shtml http://uaf.sourceforge.net/

BTW, the above post was a rehash of an older post I put up a while ago. I think I remember someone was going to do a DC FAQ??? Whatever happened to that idea? It still should be done. If you go to the Morrowind/Oblivion/Edler scrolls forum ( http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...ubb=forum;f=20 ) here at Ironworks they have a couple of FAQ that permanently stay at the top of the list of messages. We could have the website information and other stuff posted in FAQ here...

Thanks for the intro to DC. Maybe Ziroc will see this and be willing to sticky it.
There is a FAQ for DC. I put it up quite a while ago. DC FAQ This is hosted at the DC Wiki which is linked on the main Yahoo list page. I just this very minute started a FAQ forum at the Dungeon Craft Forums. I'll post over at Yahoo and remind people of the Wiki and inform 'em of the new forum. Thanks for reminding me of all that. |

Also, with the growing number of sites for DC (Ed listed his on yahoo, and its very impressive: http://two.xthost.info/uatu/dungeoncraft/ ), we should have that listed somewhere becuz I can find a few lists with a few sites for a few DC things, but it would rock to have a "master directory" that has ppls sites and is updated fairly often. Maybe I ask too much, but this would be another step towards that perfect world I envision.

Suffering from delusions SilentThief
I also have the link on my website. In a minute (right after I post this) I will add it to the link list at the yahoo group. When I update the official site next (soon, I promise) it will be included there. Also, as I tend to be a bit obsessive compulsive about some things, I have a copy of all of his work on my hard drive; actually, I have a copy of everybody's work on my hard drive, whether they have a site or not. I've copied all of the graphics from the forums and stuff emailed to me as well. Before you back away in fear, this is b/c maybe a year or so after I got involved, a site run by someone calling himself "the Old One", disappeared w/o warning. It was by far the biggest site of DC art I had ever seen, I would estimate it to be nearly as large as everyone else's work combined. As you can see, I've never fully recovered (If only he would respond to my emails...). |

Waiting as patiently as possible SilentThief [/QB]
You're right, I should have phrased that differently. I have copies of all of the public work that people have done in the last three or four years. If I had access to everybody's work...I'd either be rich or working for the Illuminati or both. |

Unfortunately, lots of people keep a lot of their work solely on their HD (subpar work, unfinished projects, barely different variants, etc.). (Me, too... some projects never get finished... others are failures ) Ed

I hear that. My site has maybe 10% of what I've done. Maybe.
I think that almost everything I have collected is available on the net somewhere. Though, I do have some stuff that has been emailed to me by people not active in the community any longer. The worst thing is that there are two people who are pretty darned good artists who told me they were going to email me work that they had never released b/c they were leaving DC behind and wanted us to have it, they have never gotten it to me and they do not have working email addresses that I can find. |
