Whatever language you use it's time you stopped talking out of your ass johnny.
Could you explain that please ?
Always happy to help out johnny. (I should have put a smiley in my original post - sorry).

You said '...my ass would be speaking German right now'. I didn't say it, you said it! Isn't language a wonderful tool?

It's probably things like that that po the rest of the world.
And does one man's opinion write in stone what everyone else in that country thinks? I for one happen to dislike American Sports with the exception of Xtreme Sports. Give me a good soccer game or a nutcase on a dirtbike and I am all happy.
Oh yeah...I am an American.
Throw another bone in the pot and let's see what else we can stir up.
No, i never said that. But it does raise some questions. What happened to this guy after he said that ? If nothing happened, he pretty much voiced the opinion of the TV station and then we are already talking about more then one person.
Anyway, i know that not all Americans are like that. I know some personally and over the internet and most are good folks but they all have a tendency to get really defensive when they are having to deal with criticism when it concernes their country. Even if the one giving it, has a point.

This is a country of free speech...if the network execs had no argument with what he was saying then probably nothing happened.
It really all depends on how the network owners feel about the dialogue, not anyone else......besides, a number of network execs does not constitute the population of a country last time I looked and their inaction does not make them guilty of sharing the same feelings. Anyone who would think otherwise has way too much time on their hands and needs to find a hobby...or a sport to participate in lol.
People who are offended can always boycott that station and watch one that gives all sports a fair chance.
It is still a free country and there are plenty of other stations that air sports and don't employ assinine announcers.

You selected a portion of my quote and left out the qualifying comment ('in the main'). Given that your post was one of the reasons I qualified my statement it's somewhat ironic that you left it out.
Sorry Donut, my ignorance is showing. I guess I did not know what "In the main" meant in your post.

It's nothing unique to Americans. I would have been infuriated if anyone made insulting remarks about us Chinese. (It would have been a different matter, though, if the other party meant sincerely to discuss the pros and cons of Chinese culture in a level-headed, knowledgeable way.)

And yes, I agree with Donut -- dear johnny oughta learn to talk less through his a$$.

*adjusting baseball cap, spitting on the nearest foreign national* Well hello all, I'd stick around but I have to clean my gun, shoot a few innocents, rip off some foreign country, play some baseball and leap from a bridge with a bungee cord on my ankle today. Damn, I need an attitude adjustment.. I don't hate you all enough.

As has been stated, stereotypes abound for any country. Saying 'America has a 'bad attitude' is like saying 'oranges are sour'. Some are, some aren't. What they definitely are NOT is identical.

Sorry, but the 9-11 (Americans are badboys) discussion is a bit of a re-hash of all the old War Forum threads and I'm just not into 'dejavu' today. I am however, fascinated to learn johnny has a new skill! Hey johnny! How DO you speak out of your a$$? We want video clips!!!

Cloudy
