Question Mark

A ranger/cleric is a good combination, isnt it? Good fighter with healing skills. What should be the dominating class?

It WAS great in the past... I'm not sure how necessary it is now. I'm contemplating a cleric/druid, which will have a VERY strong emphasis on druid, since the cleric is for the healing and Animate Dead.

Question Mark

well, i already had the ranger, i had to choose between a rogue and cleric, figured i take the cleric for a roleplaying perspective. now i dont have to wait two weeks for my party to rest & heal

Well, this is not very good since the spells books are separate. Keeping play as a ranger or becoming a rogue will be my choice.

Ranger cleric is as good a mix as a Fighter Cleric, wich is very good.

I personally became really ticked off with my Figher-Cleric after a few level-ups. She was always
1) Getting beaten senseless somehow
2) Being totally worthless in HTH fighting
3) Being totally worthless as a spellcaster

Is there someway to improve their usefulness?

Fighter/cleric is not what I want in iwd2.
A pure cleric class will be fine, because you can have a party in this game, not only one person like nwn, so you may use the cleric's spell to boost your tanks any time you like.

I am not saying that fighter/cleric is no good. It is a nice combination. Getting 4 levels or more of fighter to be a weapon specialist and get more hp really helps in hth combat. This character may be a later bloom. He/she won't be so efficient in the beginning.

Well, I confess that 20 levels as a cleric is quite enough since a ring there can add 5 wisdom which really gives a lot more devine spells.

I want to see some one play through the game with a party consisting of: 6 Half Orc Cleric/Fighters... it would be a riot! make sure they got 20 strength after that just raise wisdom with your level up ability points... Animate Dead 36 times a day anyone? Healing would be easy, anyone not in the middle of the fight could cast heal... Just a crazy idea.
