Im in Windspear. How do I kill the admantine golem. I tried luring him out. He cant get through the narrow door. Then I summon an air elemental 2 fire elementals. A berserk warrior. Nothing works. If i hit him head on I die.
What do I do? Also some tips on how to kill firkraag would be nice. I did get dragon sword, shield & helm but I just dont know how effective it is on dragons. Thanks! jeff123 |

Adamantine golems are immune to any but +5 ( maybe +4 too) weapons, and they only do 1-4 damages or so on them. Your best bet is just to ignore him.
As for Dragons, take a look at GameBanshee: http://www.gamebanshee.com/baldursga...es/dragons.php

Adamantine Golems aren't so tough - most of the time. You can use its size against it. In the thin passages of most dungeons, they can't approach you to attack. If you have Lower Magic Resistance, you can open it up to spells. Or, even better, their attack range is shorter than a staff or two handed sword. You can safely whittle it down from just beyond arm's reach. Sometimes their poison cloud gets you, but that's easily treatable with a couple Slow Poisons on hand. A little time consuming, maybe, but a relatively free 25000 xp.
Of course, if they're not restrained by corridors, it's another matter entirely...

I have not tested this theory, but Adamantium Golem's Attack are considered magical weapon, so Immunity to Magical Weapon should make you Immune to them.
I think it is worth testing.

Adamantine golems are immune to all weapons but those of +3 enchantment or better. (or was that IRON golems ? ah well IRON GOLEMS then .--although it could be Adamantine...) EITHER WAY!! Since he gets stuck in the door give minsc Liacor +3 and the neclace that makes you immune to poision and WHACK 'EM!!
*as stated before w/a 2-handed sword and if the golem is stuck in a door you can hit him without being hit yourself and the neclace protects you agianst his cloudy stuff.* [ 04-07-2002, 04:14 PM: Message edited by: Black_Knight ]

An even easier way to kill the big golems
you use AzureEdge - the throwing axe you can buy at the Copper Coronet It can hurt all golems except clay - just stand back and throw it until the are DEAD [ 04-18-2002, 11:13 AM: Message edited by: Ar-Cunin ]

I use a tag-team approach between Minsc and my Wizard Slayer.
Get them stuck in the door and send one fighter with a 2-hand sword against him. Back out as soon as he casts his Cloud, and send the partner in. This takes a little time, but you will come out of it relatively unharmed.

Adamantite golems are immune to all weapons not +3 or better. They have 125% fire resistance, and 100% resistance to everything else, including magic. Even worse, they have 90% damage absorption, meaning only a tenth of the damage gets through. There are easier ways, though. infinite ammo items like Tasheron's Bow, the Short Bow of Gesen, and Sling of Everard make smackdown much easier. Staff of the Magi works well, too, since you can turn invisible again once you hit him, and hit him again and again (and again...). you WILL want to learn some up-close adamantite slaying tactics, because you WILL run into addies later in the game that are not trapped inside anywhere, meaning their big fists will pound you to rubble if you're not careful.

Clay Golems are only hurt by blunt weapons of +2 enchantment or greater. That means get out your slings, staves, clubs, hammers, etc... i.e. priest work. Fortunately they don't have much in the way of HP, so Anomen and Jaheira usually made short work of them.
Adamantine Golems with maneuvering room are a bit trickier. My method was to stick Lahretia (sorceress) in the front rank with stoneskin, mirror image, blur, etc. Lahretia: *waves staff towards Golem, occasionally doing 1 damage* *casts MI or SS as needed* Dang, only six stoneskins left... Golem: *makes futile attempts to hurt the near-invulnerable sorceress* Crush... crush... crush... uh.... crush... Everyone else: *POUNDS THE GOLEM!* Take that, turnip hating scum! I had a couple slow poisons for the occasional botched saving throw, but this generally worked very well with little damage to the party.
