Sorry it's just that im not a very good speller, but I fail to see in any way how it matters, the connection should of been easily made as I dont think that the typo was too bad, but my apologys anyway I wouldnt intentionally degrade one of the countries most distinguished people on purpose, especially seeing as im a briton myself

I voted other. From the top ten I would have voted Churchill, some of the speeches he made still give me goose bumps nearly 60 years on, what would they have meant to a people at war and facing invasion

Saw this list on TV as well, was a bit surprised that David Beckham was ranked 33rd or something, higher then several important scientists, monarchs and other historical figures.

Nope - not a hope of making the connection. If you had badly spelt Field Marshall, or Bernard I had a chance - if you had correcly spelt Colonel I had a chance. Getting the rank wrong, and then missing the spelling - nope, it just wasn't happening.

My first instinct was that you must mean Bernie - I mean how many other famous Englishmen are there with that name - Colin is a Scot after all . But when I could not make the connection I had to assume that this was your favourite rap singer or muso, and that contrary to semi popular opinion, I am not omnipotent

So basically you have ntohing better to do than critizise my spelling, punctuation and anything you can about my post, it really is great when people like you do that, whenever there is a spelling msitake or anything your there, pointing it out to make yourself look good or make you feel better about yourself most probably, or maybe you just like making people feel like dipshits and stupid in front of other people?

Sio, the point is not about your spelling. Montgomerie was a Field Marshall, you made him a Colonel.
