Does anyone know if modified stats (such as ring of charisma, for example) are sufficient to dual, or do the stats have to be natural. I want to dual to druid, and am wondering how many points to invest in charisma (in initially creating the character).

thanks!

Another question:

Is there a list of level progression for druids on line anywhere? The manual doesn't have one (annoying!)

thx again

Hi Rankor!

To dual to Druid you will need at least 17 Wisdom and 17 Charisma, in addition to being a Fighter with at least 15 Strength. (No other class can dual to Druid.)

Your stats must be natural or the result of permanent magic (Tome of Whatever, for example). Items or spells which grant temporary stat increases don't count.

It's quite hard to get starting stats good enough to dual to Druid... every Fighter wants high Strength, Dexterity and Constitution, and that leaves only Intelligence to pull from.

However, the prospect of a Berserker/Druid or Kensai/Druid is pretty exciting, so please keep us informed of what you choose and how it goes!

Same as Clerics. But let us know if you can't find one of those.

Druids' level progression is very different from Clerics and is one of the most wackiest around in the game. No other class shares the same Xp table as the Druid.

Thanks for the info, you guys are awesome. What is up with the druid xp table? Are 14th level druids really that kick-@ss? Why isn't the table in the manual, do you think the designers were embarrassed by it?

I decided to go with a straight fighter whom I will level around 14th. By the time the xp cap gets to be an issue, I'll have bought ToB, so it will be no problem. After a good amount of time clicking "reroll", I finally got what I wanted: maxed out in everything, except a 3 in intelligence. Slightly cheesy, I know, but this is my second time through, so what the heck. I have to say that I am a little chagrined at the prospect of playing a character with an IQ of about 20. But I'm wise as all get-out! LOL

thanks again for your input,

rankor

I thought Druids stoped at level 14 w/out TOB installed.

Indeed they do. I got this from my ToB manual. I just gave the entire table.

I read a thingy that said BioWare decided that for BG2, they had to impose a very low level cap on Druids because otherwise, they'd be far too powerful. (In BG1, a Druid gains levels even faster than a Thief--can you imagine what would happen if this was true in BG2 as well?) Then for ToB, they removed the cap and let Druids get buff again, because the bad guys in ToB were strong enough to handle a high-level Druid. Hence the Druid's really screwy level gain and spell progression from Level 14 to 15.

Myself, I've got a Druid that I spent about half an hour Rerolling....now that he's eaten the Tomes, he's got 19/18/17/9/21/16. I'll got either Totemic or Avenger (probably Totemic), and Dual around level 17.
