Same same but different? Not really.. and did I mention that I hate the bloody ugly hats!?

Oki, had potential but as with so many games lately this one is a brilliant example of things that shouldn't be released. The thing frooze up due to a bug that made it unplayable and some of the levels were so stupid and infuriating I was tempted to use my puter as a freesbee!
I found Dungeon Siege good for younger kids. It's fairly simple to play, it has linear gameplay with a nice straight path to follow, it has nice colorful flashy 3D graphics, and it's easy to win. Like I said, kids love it!

Star Control 3. They sucked all the fun and cheese out of the game.

MOO 3 had the same problem

I think you mean Afterlife.

NHL´98 was also a disappointment.

Pardon my being a tetchy "grown-up" then - I read through the first two pages wondering why no one had panned Dungeon Siege. With the portion that I quoted I am not sure if you are posting as a defence of the game or an attack. Most of the points you make, are to me the reasons why I hated the game.
Oh, I'm not defending it too much. I'm just saying I found a use for it (my son). When I think about it, it wasn't exactly good, but I've seen much worse games. At least DS has nice graphics and sounds. I just see this one as being good for the 8-12 yr. old crowd rather than simply a crappy game. Whether the developers did it on purpose or not is another issue entirely.

The worst I ever bought was a shooter game called "Chasm: The Rift". But I considered buying Everquest until a friend of mine bought it and confirmed that you had to pay to play the stupid thing. I had actually advised him to go ahead and get it despite what he'd heard about having to pay for it, because I couldn't believe that you _had_ to pay, I figured it was an option(like you can play Starcraft alone or online). Luckily he was able to get his money back, about 2 hours after he got it unwrapped!
Do you know how excited I was to get that game? And the disappoinment that followed because it was too damn impossible to keep up with. Yeah, that was a bad game too.

It always cracks me up when people complain about EQ costing a monthly fee. It states that right on the box! That said it was a fun game, played it for about 3 years. For the cost of a movie and popcorn a month you got a stable online world that you could play in with people from all over the planet
