Hi everybody!

I used to play WW quite a lot when it came out and i nearly finished it, but in the end it crashed all the time and i couldnīt be botherd to go on playing. Anyway, yesterday i blew off the dust of my WW-cds to give it another chance.
As far as i can remeber i was able to exit the first town also from the right hand side, which i canīt do this time. But thatīs not all. I neither can enter the magic shop nor the town-hall. I thought i could enter them right from the beginning on. Am i wrong? And if not what can i do against it?

Cheers

P.S: and the dialogues are way too fast (except in the guilds, where the opposite is the case). is there a way to slow them down?

Welcome to the Board, Radagast the Brown!!!

May your Romp through the Geal Serran...(once we track this 'Bug' down)
.....Be even better then you remember....(from the Last time around)

My guess is that you're playing a machine thats running Win 2000 Or XP.

If this is the case, you'll need to use 'Virtualdub'...Check this Link ...Xignals Page

You might also have to run in 'Compatablity Mode'...Right click on the WW shortcut and choose Properties...Then look for compatablity 95/98.

If you're Not running Win 2K or XP....We'll need more info on your system.

OS
___MB Ram
___GB HD
Directx ver_._
Video Card
etc..

Let us Know if this Helps

Welcome to the board, Radagast the Brown!!!

I don't recall any way to adjust the dialog speed - if there is a way, it will probably be in the computer options screen. You should be able to scroll back through the conversations in the chat window if there is anything you've missed. You won't know what slow is in the guilds until you meet Sebastio (cringe).

Welcome to the boards, Radagast the Brown. May the only dust you see in the Gael Serran from now on be the dust of your dead enemies.

As has been mentioned, you're talking about classic problems with Win2k or XP. There are known fixes, and there's a tech hints thread that I'll bump up if it's disappeared. It (and its predecessor) cover a lot of things in the technical realm... a lot of things that are good to know.

And as for the dialogue being too fast... if you can figure out what makes that happen, I know how we can *both* make a lot of money, real quick. Seems the residents of Brimloch Roon have a standing contract out on Sebastio...

Welcome Radagast the Brown.
The regular crew here have just updated the tech tips thread to make it easy to use. I think Packrat & Bungleau have put you on the right track, they are pretty good at that sort of thing.
Good luck getting sorted out & remember:THEY
