Gidday, I was playing WW and then the CD-Rom went to access the CD for some music and wasn't able to. I rebooted etc. but now when I put in a CD my drive doesn't seem to be spinning and isn't reading it, after a few seconds it pops it out again.
Any ideas appreciated, but looks like a new CD-Rom drive might be needed cheers Nutman |

If you have any Audio CD's..You can give it a try, But if it doesn't keep spinning...It probably died....

Before yoou go to buy a new cd rom go to start/settings/control panel/add new hardware. Then see if the system wants to add a new cd rom. My cd rom has been dropping out when I start my pc lately & I have to reinstall it. It only takes a minute.

You might also try cleaning the drive and see if that helps. Given the amount of dog dust we have in the office and last year all the dust from 2 additions, I learned to clean my drives before I go looking for more serious causes!

Thats the second time I've seen 'in game music' mentioned. I dont here any music outside of the guilds. All I here is the background noises. Am I missing something?

Well, yes, Kev. There definitely is music available, along with noises and other sound effects.
If you're getting no audio, that's a problem. If all you're getting is the sound effects, it might be just a game setting. Check your controls settings to see what sound levels you might boost up. IIRC, there's one for speech, music, effect, and general.
