It's CV-making time again. Time to bust out all the frivolous, antiqated nostalgic accomplishments I may or may not have actually accomplished and white-lie my way into getting a shitty job at McDonalds... or possibly KFC.
Anyways, now that I'm typing up this bonanza of borderline bullshititude I've come to feel a nagging twinge in the back of my brain. A twinge that says "Aaron, you really arn't as spectacularly awesome as you say you are. Rather, I'd really just say you're excessively kick-ass as opposed to sumptuously sexy.". Now, the question that you guys can help me out with is should I listen to that pushy little piker in the back of my mind or should I just roll with my usual flurry of exaggerated aggrandization? I'm at a loss, my conscience grows stronger with each passing day and soon all that shall be left is a good, honest man.

Help!

Also, anyone else got some stories of skill-padding in order to get paid? I know you do, c'mon, admit it.

hmmm...what a co-ink-i-dink, as yogi berra would say. am in the process of doing something similiar, but my prob is editing out the not-needed so the applicable whines. oops, shines

what kind of work are you hoping to get

ever done it before

ever done anything like it b4

ever done anything even remotely related to it b4, perhaps in a previous life?

if no is the answer to the last three q's, then I suggest going ahead with the warm-up of the aggrandizer.
-or-

'splain how you can get to work on time, all of the time, no excuses that can't be proven - if you don't make it in, your boss should be able to read why in the next day's newspaper.

'splain how you only need to be told to do something once to understand that he actually means for u to do it.

'splain how you understand the difference between just doing something, or doing it right the first time so he does not have to tell you to do it again.

Those three things are the most frustrating part of being the boss, and probably cover 90% of the people I have fired when in that position.
Aggrandize your ability to do those, then follow thru, and I will guarantee you will be the most fireproof employee the boss has.

hope that helps

Heh heh. Thanks for the lowdown chief. It's great to get an opinion from the other side of the equation
Basically I'm just applying for a Summertime Joe-job to rack up a bit of money after University has ended for the year. I've worked part-time in a cafe for the past 4 years so hopefully that'll help, but as it stands I'm applying to 'The Warehouse' (basically a large, low-cost super-store for household appliances and consumer goods) for a retail/shelf-stacking job so we'll see where my cafe work experience gets me

Did your old boss like you - and did you do a good job at the café. If so - get a recommendation from him/her - it can only help.
