Ok... I go to a site and Firefox tells me I need to download a plug-in. I click Install Automatically, and it says it is unavailable. So I click Manual Install, and it takes me to the quicktime page.
I download and install quicktime player... and I still can't see these plug-in requiring files. What do I need to do?

Paint your PC black and toss it out the window.

Which site is it? It's possible it uses something IE-specific to stream the file to you.
Also, are you sure that the Quicktime player is installed as a plugin to Firefox? What is listed at the URL about:plugins ? |

It is this site. I have not a clue if is using anything IE specific...
And in about:plugins, this is listed QuickTime Plug-in 6.5.1 File name: npqtplugin.dll The QuickTime Plugin allows you to view a wide variety of multimedia content in Web pages. For more information, visit the QuickTime Web site. as well as a table underneath which I won't bother to post...

That site does work for me. Plays music and everything.
I have 7 Quicktime files installed, npqtplugin.dll through to npqtplugin7.dll. These .mid files should be using npqtplugin2.dll. If your missing that one, theres your problem. Try uninstalling everything quicktime, and then installing it again when FireFox asks.
