But by that reasoning (that it was close to border to smuggle illegal weapons and quick getaways) it could be a good thing that the compound was shut down regardless of how it came about.

The southern poverty law center will jump on any chance to bankrupt hate groups, they did it in the aforementioned incident as well to the mississippi kkk, and others. I say power to them.

You bring up a particularly puzzeling point for me.

Why is it hate speach for a person to vocalize any form of disaproval for a Gay life style, while it is ok for Gay groups to say rather nasty and sometimes unprintable things about the people who do not agree with their agenda?

And what the HELL is a Hate Crime? In my experience, Crimes comitted out of love are rather rare.

Google censors sites? Ive heard that before. Some things - kiddy porn etc- should be censored, but with white supermacy etc theres a gray area. On one hand free speech, on the other the danger that such groups will spread.

On the whole such sites are probably best left blocked.

i must disagree with the sentiment that they are better left blocked. what happens when the next generation is raised and they don't know about it? will they then go out and repeat the same atrocities?

i think knowledge is the ONLY answer. shine the light on everything, regardless of how much you hate it. encourage people to remember and talk about the horrible things, as well as the good things. most of all no one should tell another what they can or cannot read or watch or play or believe.

Along with free speech I'm also an advocate for freedom of choice regarding publicity. Just as a website owner should be free to say what they want, so should a search engine owner be free to link or not link what it wants. Why should freedom only be applied to one group of people and not others?

Why should a person or group be forced to publicise a view they do not hold?

With freedom comes responsibility.

The sites in question are spreading mis information. Denial of the holocaust was mentioned. By your logic that would ensure the same atrocities would happen again. Thus to achieve what you are advocating, the sites should be blocked. There is a disconnect between your broad ideals, and your method of achieving them.
