I sometimes fall asleep while studying, but that's pretty much the only time I nod off with the light on. I find darkness and silence to be really relaxing, so I prefer both when trying to sleep. I was terrified of the dark as a kid, though. I slept with the light on until I was about twelve, I think.

I can sleep anytime, anywhere, under almost any conditions.

I'd prefer the dark, and my shades aren't thick enough (there's a streetlamp at the same level of my window in my apartment -- maybe it contributes to my insomnia).

LMAO! That's informative, there, Gxc. Kinda like my response to attendance: "I was at ASO every class... Except for those that I missed..."

Nay, I never forget to blow out those candles, for they might cause harm, if continuously lit for too long! Looking into little battery operated lights for the pumpkins, now.

Bit of a sore point between myself and my partner this one!

I prefer the light off, and silence. He likes the light on but dimmed and the radio on - which drives me mad!

We have a compromise whereby if I'm not working the next day he has it his way, but if I have to work in the morning it is lights off and silence!

I have to have it totally dark myself. Silence doesn't really matter, but I need it DARK.

Heh.. I've been known to fall asleep at any given spot. Still, I much prefer darkness over light.

I can't sleep with the ligh on. I just can't. I always turn all the lights down and go to sleep. I can nap for a few minutes with all the light, but sleep? No way.
