How is it compared to BG1 and BGII? Is it worth picking up?

It is much more plot intensive, to the point where it is more like an adventure game than an RPG.
There is a lot of character development (your alignment relfects your actions, not some pre-chosen trait). Intelligence, wisdom and charisma becomes much more important (especially charisma). Graphics and sounds-wise it is as impressive as BG2.

You get to choose stats and class and such, but not name, gender or race.

Character creation is like in IWD2 - you allocate a fixed number of points to the 6 attributes (they all start at 11 iirc).
You start off as a fighter, but later in the game may get a chance to change class (not sure if its dual or multi or something else) to mage or rogue. IMHO it's pretty good, and certainly different from the BG & IWD series. If you're very much a hack n' slash fan then this is not for you. But get this if you like plots, mystery, strange new dimensions and the ability to solve puzzles/quests thru' dialogue instead of just using cold steel. You'll also find several unique & memorable NPCs. In fact you start off with a floating skull as a companion (no, it's not a demilich, unfortunately). The game is all about finding out who you *really* are, as the game starts when you wake up in a morgue and have no idea how you got there nor who you are. You also can't die in the game. If you get killed, you'll just wake up in the mortuary again. The game is dialgue intensive, but it is very rich for this. Stats like INT, WIS or CHR play an important part as the higher they are, the more dialogue choices you have. You'll need to be patient to play this game, but it *is* rewarding, and refreshingly different from BG/IWD et al.

Hmmm.. ive heard people talk about this game.. but i never looked into it. any sites with good info? i might wanna check it out.
P.S. i like the alignment thing though, starting out as true neutral and moving around by your actions.. a good way to keep you to your alignment!
