I wonder if people will invent something that will stop an asteroid which is on a collision course for earth. Hopefully they will, and then we wont have to worry about things like that.

Personally I expect to be mulched by something much more mundane and terrestrial...say a semi running a red light with 50 tons of liquified pig poop in a tank. Being at ground Zero of an asteroid stike is way to sexxy to happen to me. sigh...

I read about it..but other than that, there was no warning on the news that we should go into bunkers or put on hard hats I hope the next time an asteroid or space rock comes close to Earth we should be warned!

Let me copy the thing I asked earlier in this thread then...
Just a thought that popped into my mind...
If a few days beforehand scientists find out a huge asteroid will wipe out *any* life on Earth, even if people hide underground, would you even want to know it? Would you want to spend the last few days of your life in fear, regret, goodbye's, panic, useless escape plans, chaos, riots, mourning etc., while if no one would have told you about it, it would have been over before you even realized it had happened?

anything that powerfull would be a weapon of mass distruction on a scale we have never seen before. i think i would be a dangerous thing to have. What if a terrorist got a hold of one of those?
